Flu & Covid 19 Vaccination Service
If you're eligible for an NHS flu vaccine, you can get your vaccine from:
- your GP surgery
- a pharmacy that offers NHS flu vaccination (if you're aged 18 or over)
- some maternity services (if you're pregnant)
You may receive an invitation to get vaccinated, but you do not have to wait for this before booking an appointment.
Important: It's important to go to your vaccination appointments unless you have a high temperature or feel too unwell to go to work or do your normal activities.
Flu vaccination service
Flu vaccinations are available between September and March.
You are eligible to receive a free flu jab if you:
- are 65 and over (including those who will be 65 by 31 March 2024)
- have certain health conditions
- are pregnant
- are in long-stay residential care
- receive a carer's allowance, or are the main carer for an older or disabled person who may be at risk if you get sick
- live with someone who is more likely to get a severe infection due to a weakened immune system, such as someone living with HIV, someone who has had a transplant, or is having certain treatments for cancer, lupus or rheumatoid arthritis
- People with long term health conditions: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/vaccinations/flu-influenza-vaccine/
You don't need a GP referral or GP permission to have a free flu jab in pharmacy.
Once the portal is open you can book your flu jab through the NHS portal.
If you fall outside of the eligibility group you can still choose to get vaccinated against flu and help prevent this debilitating infection from spoiling your winter. We can provide the flu jab for you at a small cost.
Covid Vaccination Service
We are now offering Covid Spring Boosters for 75 years old and over.
You must book your appointment through the NHS portal.
We also offer a walk-in service, however this will depend on the amount of vaccines we receive that week.
There will be up-to-date information available regarding walk-in-clinics and dates on the NHS website: Please check here.
