Our story

Marks Tey Pharmacy has been an independent community pharmacy for over 20 years and is conveniently based in Marks Tey with easy access to the A12 and A120.

We pride ourselves in our outstanding customer service and professional medical advice which helped us to establish a loyal customer base and to welcome new patients on an ongoing basis.

Large pharmacy chains in supermarkets are dominating our community, but by having friendly, knowledgeable, approachable staff and pharmacist we are able to compete and have gained an excellent reputation.

Since December 2015 Jose Osorio Rodriguez has been the superintendent pharmacist and owner. He has been working as a community pharmacist in the UK for over 18 years and gained experiences in various local pharmacies as an employee and locum pharmacist. In 2009 he and a business partner established a new pharmacy in Clacton-on-Sea which turned into one of the busiest pharmacies in the area. After taking over Marks Tey Pharmacy he is now concentrating in expanding our services for our customers and constantly improving the customer service. With his help we started providing a dosette box preparation service and we are looking after the medication for several care homes.

Here at Marks Tey Pharmacy, Colchester, we are able to offer consultations with our Pharmacist Independent Prescriber. A pharmacist independent prescriber (IP) is responsible and accountable for the assessment of patients with diagnosed or undiagnosed conditions and for decisions about the clinical management required including prescribing. Independent prescribers are playing a critical role in delivering care especially in communities such as Marks Tey without a local GP practice. We are normally able to see you without an appointment. Especially during the busy winter season it is very useful to access a medical professional at a convenient time.
